👋🏽 Hi, I'm Matt Thomas-Wicher.
I help teams design and build products that make positive impacts on people's lives.
I’m experienced in shipping software, engaging audiences, building for
retention and growing businesses in a variety of domains. This has helped
me develop an understanding of how to design & build complex ecosystems.
COLLABORATION
At the core of the design process lies collaboration, where my dedication is to nurture and bring forth the best ideas, whether they originate from me or my colleagues. As long as they effectively serve our users and the company's business goals, they have my commitment. Here are testimonials from past collaborators sharing their experiences of working with me.
DESIGN THINKING
I frequently partner with engineers to create and define user flows and frameworks that are essential for creating an optimal user experience. This is crucial, as there are many intricacies that may already be baked in to a pre-existing codebase that could affect designs, and vice-versa.
MORE ABOUT MATT
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of companies, from early-stage startups to established enterprises, across various industries. This has given me a unique perspective on the product design process and has allowed me to develop a deep understanding of what it takes to create user-centered products that meet both business and user needs.
When I'm not designing, you can find me spending time outside with the dogs, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, or checking out one of the many Smithsonian museums for the tenth time. I believe that staying curious and seeking inspiration from diverse sources is key to creating innovative and impactful designs.
I live in Washington, D.C. with my pup, Micah, an energy-packed pandemic puppy whose primary goal is mischief ;)
When I have free time, you can find me cruising through the city on my OneWheel, taking some pictures on my Sony A7rii, reading a book by the pool, playing some Xbox, or catching up with some friends for a drink or two.
I love to travel, and most recently, I went on a 6 month solo backpacking excursion in SE Asia, which is by far one of the best experiences I have had in my life.
Thanks for stopping by!
